Evaluation and Analysis
How can focused reviews, detailed modelling, and critical analysis help decision-making?
External reviews and research provide information to decision makers and stakeholders about what is working, what is not working and why. We facilitate a sharing of expertise to create solid decision making.
We conduct external reviews with independent environmental organizations, such as the Cumulative Environmental Management Association in Alberta’s Athabasca oil sands region and the Independent Environmental Monitoring Agency in the diamond mining region in Canada’s north.
We develop analytical models to help decision makers plan and forecast the effects of change and growth. An example of one of our models is the Social and Infrastructure Assessment Model that forecasts changes to population, government services (municipal infrastructure, housing, health and social services etc.) in response to growth in the Alberta oil sands region.
