Modeling Government Infrastructure, Program and Service Demand in the Oil Sands
Rapid growth in the oil sands region of Alberta highlighted the need to be able to understand and forecast social and infrastructure service demand and gaps on a regional basis. The Headwater Group managed this project to enable the Government of Alberta to better plan and manage growth. A model was developed to help forecast change to service and infrastructure needs and gaps over time as growth occurs in a region. The work provided input into future major project planning, environmental socio-economic assessments, regulatory reviews and government planning and budgeting.
