Multi-Party Coordination and Decision Making - Large Pipeline Project
During the Mackenzie Gas Project process, key stakeholders recognized a forum was needed to build common understandings and reach decisions. The federal government, with the support of the Government of Northwest Territories (GNWT) and the Mackenzie Gas Project, invited our team to chair a Task Team to work through issues and approaches. This invitation followed the development of a key report on Collaborative Approaches and Strategies for Impact Management. We chaired key meetings with senior representatives of Canada, the GNWT, and Imperial Oil. The meetings resulted in common approaches for issues such as community development strategies, project permitting, access and benefits, strategies on aboriginal and community capacity and, training. We delivered:
- A collaborative and productive decision-making forum;
- Meeting Leadership and Chairmanship;
- Collaborative Strategies Report, Reviews of practices for consideration; and
- Agreements on numerous key steps and strategies forward between the parties.
